Welcome to Thin Air Gear “Necessity, who is the mother of invention” Plato Thin Air Gear was born out of necessity. As I traveled through airports, I watched our soldiers rucking two olive green duffels, each weighing 75-100 lbs, along with their other gear and weaponry.
The vision became clear. Our company needed to develop a bag that was functional, wheeled, and ergonomic which could be used 365 days a year, not just on the trip overseas and back. We researched the market and other US manufacturing companies that were building “deployment bags” and found that none of them were developed for the needs of the soldier. We began our development in the spring of 2007 with the assistance of CSM Capel of the 82nd Airborne, who took the time to T&E and give us feedback on our 1st generation bag. Since that time, we have continually upgraded our bag based upon our customers feedback, and now feel we have the most functional, ergonomic and operational bag in the market. We are so confident in its design and workmanship, that all Thin Air Gear bags carry a Lifetime Warranty. We will never stop the process of improving, inventing and most of all…listening to our customers. Our motto is “Gear for the Long Haul” for two reasons: first, we recognize the incredible sacrifice our soldiers make when deploying and, second, our gear is meant to last a lifetime.
