Just got my katana today, Ordered it on the 22nd of october so it was a bit before it finally got to me. Came very protected, a box inside a box inside a box. But the final box had latches on it to keep it from slipping open. Katana also came with a bag to hold it in. Blade was oiled to protect it from rust and its a decent weight in hang. Will definitely buy from Shinwa again! So I have been looking at this for a while now and after a few months of waiting on it I recently bought it. I have nothing but love for this sword. The comments that I have that would fall under the negative is that mine came a little loose but all of the loose hardware was easily able to be tightened up. That said I am very happy with this sword. The weight is balanced the blade came with a good edge, I still sharpened it a bit but I will do that with all edged pieces I purchase. This is a great katana to both display or actually use if needed. I recommend it for adding to a collection or starting your collection, especially for the price.

It is not a fantasy piece so it is rugged and it doesn't cost so much that you would only want to display it and never use it. Got this as a X-mas present as my first sword. I loved it and still do. It has an amazing bright teal color and an extremely sharp edge. The ONLY problem I had was the piece at the end of the hilt started to unravel, but this is an easy fix as I burnt the end of the string and have not had any problems since. Also great for slicing apples ;) Beautiful display piece I ordered this about 2 weeks ago and I have to say I am outstanded about the quality of the sword it really does look like an authentic Japanese sword and is very solid and well built I don't plan on testing the blade but it feels solid and I believe we could use the sword for what it was intended to. received my reagal teal katan today im am quite pleased with it the weight is good an it preforms outstanding nothing loose on it i will recomend it When i opened the package it came in a beautiful wooden box lined in gold sheet, I love this sword it is truly amazing.

I 100% agree with xeokym, these blades are beautiful yet functional, i give thanks to SHINWA artisans and designers for their hard work and honesty beyond appearances as well. For the price this is a a really nice katana, both for display and actual use. Shinwa is a trustworthy name. If you want a folded steel (damascus) carbon blade that won't break the bank, this is it. I've used it quite a lot for backyard practice chopping bamboo, water bottles & various other targets over the past 2 years & it's never bent, broken or chipped at all. The blade has quite a bit of spring to it, you couldn't put a bend in it if you wanted to. The handle is very solid. About a year ago I upgraded mine and replaced the zinc tsuba with a solid brass one, and the sword disassembles & goes back together very easily, nothing has ever come loose. Keep it well-oiled & this katana will give you years of fun, and makes an awesome display piece as well. The one and only thing I was confused about is that the description says that the sword has a razor sharp edge on both side, when in fact the sword only is one sided and has no possible way of being sharp on the back.

Other then that this is a great sword I was just under the impression that the back would be sharp as well Shinwa swords are indeed true Damascus steel (folded steel.)
akadema backpackDamascus steel takes a great effort and a long time to produce, because of this they do not waist the folded steel on tangs.
gelert laptop backpackNow you will hear the term , the tang is wielded on the blade, this means the tang is attached to the blade through the forging proses, not arc, mig, or tig wielded.
skyrim immersive backpackShinwa swords are very well made and are all full tang no matter how many pegs are holding the handle on.

Know matter the reason why you want to buy a sword, the Shinwa swords are excellent swords for the money, you can not go wrong with a Shinwa. P.S. Shinwa blades don't scratch easily, if you think you scratched it clean it, the scratches will probably wipe rite off.

I’m sharing a secret: there are things you need to collect when you travel on the newest EVA Air Hello Kitty Jet, and I don’t just mean the air stewardess’s mobile number. Deep in my kiasu mind, there are stuff you should really try to kapo (Malay word for take) on board this 333-seater flight that plies the Singapore-Taipei route. I don’t think you can peel off the Shining Star decal off the entire plane and put it in your carry-on luggage, because there’re certainly smaller things in life that you can attempt to. First time, you might want to grab the cutlery set. This ultra “kawaii” set consists of a fork, spoon, and knife, and features the key Sanrio characters: My Melody, Little Twin Stars, and not forgetting… The solid-purple cutlery comes standard with your in-flight meal on-board the full-service flight. Don’t say I bo jio, because some people might just use the washroom for 10 minutes to wash off the gravy off their spoon… Coffee and tea… and sugar.

So I found these sugar sachets staring at me several times throughout the flight. Yes, free-flow coffee and tea, to keep me awake while watching 50 Shades Of Grey available in the in-flight entertainment system. The focus here is actually the packet of wet tissue back at the bottom of the photo. It’s sealed, and ultra adorable. Next to the some other bulkier items on this Souvenirs list, this packet of wet tissue is the most innocent to stow away without raising eyebrows from other passengers. I used that disposable paper cup featuring the Little Twin Stars. There’s black coffee inside, but who’s gonna judge you if you’re taking out your own trash right?Legit logo printed on the cup. Was offered at least twice to each passenger. Need I say more? This Buckwheat Laver snack thingy is part of the in-flight meal, if luck decrees that it be on your Food & Drinks menu. Nobody ever said you had to finish every single items on the food tray if you’re already full!

Please go ahead and kapo the free electricity made available to all guests who are Elite (read: premium economy) and Business Class travellers, and is usually located just under your arm rest for the Elite travellers. Just bring your own charging cable and you’re all set (I used one to charge my iPhone throughout the whole flight). Toilet paper with Hello Kitty print. This is one of the easiest item to kapo while you make a trip to the washroom. C’mon, it’ll be enough to just take 1 square, alright? Just make sure it didn’t come with other “special gifts” left behind by other washroom users. You know what to do. Disposable rinsing cup provided in the washroom. Try not to squash this one while hiding it in your jeans pocket or something? The focus here is the hand soap and facial mist spray. Look, do everybody else a favour and don’t really take the whole bottle lah, ok? Just spray spray the facial mist on your face, will do. I sprayed it six times on my face, and ended up smelling like a citrus fruit basket when I reached my seat.

I’m not supposed to tell you this, but if you do ask nicely (not me, ask the flight attendant!), the squishy and soft in-flight pillow could be yours. the evidence is here…I’m told there’re two designs available on the Shining Star Jet. But… don’t be kiasu and ask for two packets unless you are bagging one for me. Go ahead and kapo photos of other travellers kapo-ing photos of other travellers, especially if they are good-looking folks. Don’t wait until fellow travellers start advancing towards you with their forks and knives hor. Use your own discretion and ask for permission first, ok? Good-mannered and efficient, the flight attendants are decked in standard EVA Air uniform. But, they donned a little something extra as well – matching Hello Kitty-motif apron, just for the Hello Kitty flight. Classy and cute all in one! I do not, however, encourage you at all to attempt asking them for their aprons, which leads us to the last item on this list…
