backpack ula catalyst

THIS TOPIC HAS BEEN UPDATED. (CLICK HERE FOR MY 2016 BACKPACKING GEAR LIST) I’ve made some changes to my backpacking gear for this year. The biggest change was replacing my ultralight tarp shelter with a fully-enclosed “tarptent style” shelter from Lightheart Gear. I also replaced my patch-covered 3/4 length Thermarest Prolite sleeping pad (which lasted over 4,000 miles) with a new full-size inflatable pad from Exped. I upgraded my ULA Conduit pack to the new version (the ULA CDT) which is very similar, but with a few improvements. (Ultralight Adventure Equipment makes the best lightweight backpacks in the business, I highly recommend them.) The CDT is the smallest and lightest pack in their lineup, with just enough room for all my gear and 5-7 days of food. My base weight is now around 11 pounds (up from 10 pounds last year). My total 5-day pack weight (including food, water and fuel) will be about 26 pounds. This gear will be used for three-season backpacking (Spring, Summer, Fall).

I almost tossed out the straps you supply for non-pole hikers to hook hands on to the straps of the pack. Great idea but no use for me. Until.....the soles of my boots unglued and fell apart. I ultimately ran out of duct tape to hold them together and needed to think of something to keep my boots alive ( hiking in my Tevas over 12,000 passes did not sound appealing ).
swissgear upload backpack reviewI grabbed the Circuit's hand straps, cinched them around the middle of the boot, prayed to whatever boot God would listen and finished our awesome trip. ( photos included ) But I trashed the straps and now want a new set. Can you send me a pair?
