Inspired by Beverly's story, Megs decided to start an organization that provides birthday celebrations for homeless children in the Pittsburgh Region. Through developing five unique programs and partnering with 50+ local shelters and agencies over the past five years, Beverly's Birthdays has provided cheer for over 10,000 children experiencing homelessness and families in-need in the Pittsburgh region. Through your support of Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank's backpack program, free and reduce school meal eligible students in Pittsburgh will receive enough kid-friendly, nutritionally balanced and delicious food for two days every weekend. In its first year of operation, the backpack program reached 1,700 students. With your help the program will continue to expand to reach additional neighborhoods and more students in need. In addition to providing Emergency Shelter to more than 500 women experiencing intimate partner violence and their children each year, Women's Center & Shelter helps an additional 6,000 women and children annually through a range of programs and services designed to keep them safe.
Over the years, children have become nearly 50 percent of the residents sheltered at WCS. The Children's Program provides a safe, nurturing, culturally responsive environment where mothers can leave their children in the care of Children's Advocates. Upcoming renovations to the Children's Program will allow for a greater variety of activities for children of all ages to play, learn and heal together with enhanced security. How do I pay for parking and what does it cost?
