We decided screw that and took a chance with this tour. Good thing we did too because this tour was awesome. Granted I wish we had more time at Chichen Itza because the place is huge but we packed a lot of stuff into one day. The Cenote is perfect after walking around in the sun.

Not just Chichen Itza-you get a small Mexican town, which is lovely, swimming in a cenote and all you can eat buffet. This guy is an encyclopedia of Myan history and culture. We toured a Cenote and had a buffet at the restaurant there. Everyone was pleasant at the park. We were based in Cancun and got picked up from out hotel at 7:45am as confirmed after our booking, We arrived home in the evening about 7:30pm.

Luis was our tour guide and was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the tour, which added to the experience. The tour of Chichen Itza is the first stop and it was very detailed and interesting, we then had about an hour after the guided tour to take pictures and look around ourselves. It was very hot and there is not a lot of shade, so ensure you bring hats and sun block. After Chichen Itza we went to a location for lunch were there is also a Cenote, we had about 1 1/2 hours here so plenty of time to swim in the Cenote and have lunch. The lunch provided was a buffet with lots of options. On the way home we also stopped at Valladolid for around 30 mins before heading home. I would highly recommend this tour. He was always around to answer questions and to provide a laugh. The time at the ruins was for me surreal. The beauty, history and culture are evident in everything you see. Take lots of cash because the shopping on offer is exquisite and cheaper than you will find anywhere else in Cancun or thereabouts. The trip to Valladoloid was simply magical - my only request for improvement is more time in this picturesque town. All in all, a fabulous day amde all the more special byt the mexican people. Kevin L January 2017 This was a fun trip. It is a long drive out there, but they put on some old, wildly colored retro bus that made for a fun ride. We stop at a Mayan place to shop, where they took our picture and then offered us a bottle of Mayan liquor with our picture on it. The ruins were incredible and we stopped and a scenic water hole not alcohol but actual hole in the earth.
