kumbh mela backpack

Would like to know how safe is it. Are the hotels safe? Wanted to go there and meet a friend. Are there any places i shouldn't be staying or visiting. What times are safe to go out. Is there a particular time i must return back to the hotel. Some Do's and Don's would be appreciated. It is like any other city. In general it is quite city but any thing can happen if it is your bad day like at in your city. Better not to go out at late hours as you are outsider. Compared to Mumbai, Allahabad is much smaller city. Yet, it is quite safe. Please stay in a decent hotel and take all care that a visitor to new city expected to take. In most non-metro cities, the life comes to halt little after sun-set. So try and return to your hotel by 10:00 pm at most. Dear Deepak & Car Link, Appreciate your speedy reply. Is it generally safe for a two Indian tourist (Me and My Partner) to be travelling on the roads at any given time of the day? How safe are the hotels there in Allahabad?

I'm narrowing down on Hotel U.R or Galaxy. Please could you suggest some other budget hotels? Any other Do's & Don'ts? Do i need to carry anything from this side while visiting to Allahabad?
aarn backpack for sale First and foremost shed-off all your apprehensions.
75cl backpackYou can explore Allahabad throughout the day without any problem.
backpack for sony fs100There is nothing special to be carried from Mumbai, articles of your daily needs are readily available at every nook and corner. Local auto drivers, pandas for rituals may approach you from the time you reach railway station as in any other town in India. Ignore and avoid arguments. Do what you think is best for you. Yes, do carry your identification with you. The hotels may need it.

As regards hotels, please go through the reviews of TA and choose what suits you. Have a good trip of holy city. There is no particular safe time to visit Allahabad, anything can happen anytime, anywhere. You can just take precautions to avoid such things. If you are coming by train, you will get rush of rickshaw puller, auto driver, coolies to offer their services. If you have only a backpack, can go to hotels nearby which are cheap and at walking distance. As far as hotels are concerned, all are same, take care of your belongings. Carry some id of yours for staying at hotel. All are safe, i guess, been to Allahabad 3 times, no such complaints as such. If you are looking for authentic food like biryani, eat from nice and reputed places only, others are not good. Stay away from pandas at any religious place. Have a nice trip, just take precautions at your end, no such danger as such. Edited: 11 June 2015, 10:30 I am going to visit Allahabad next month.

I want to know some following info.. 1) How much time is required to go inside the river in the boat, have a bath and again come back ro river shore? 2) Is there any cloak room facilities availabale at triveni sangam? Please reply to me Edited: 09 July 2015, 15:25 You can charter a boat. Keep your bags in the boat itself and reach Sangam. It hardly takes 10 to 15 minutes to reach Sangam. Beware of the floating pandas.. they will try to rip you off. Keep interaction with pandas to bare minimum or else sky is the limit for their expectation. Best is to avid any interaction. Warn the boatman who is taking to you to Sangam that you do not wish to entertain any pandas beforehand. The charges are negotiable and you can pay around 50 - 60 % of the quoted charges. Based on my personal experience. Next month (August) is rainy season and Ganga is in spate, going to the middle of the river for dip is not at all advisable. Better take few dips at the shore. You may have seen people going to the middle of the river where Ganga and Yamuna meet, however that is only when water level is low in the month of Magh (Jan - Feb).

There are no cloak rooms at Triveni Sangam. People in group hire a boat and manage changing on the boat after they have had a dip in Ganga. Beware of pandas and do not agree to their puja and anushthans. In case you insist to go on a boat ride (no bath in middle of river), make sure you do so in clear weather along with your group and not alone, negotiate in advance for the fare with the boat man to be on the safer side. One attraction mentioned in this post Ranked of 47 things to do in Allahabad You can hire a boat and it would take around 1.5 hours to go and come back to shore. There are no cloak room available as suggested in the above posts. You can keep your belongings at the boat only. I am from Allahabad itself and visited numerous times. My Parents will be going to Allahabad for asti visargan. I want to know that Bharat Sevashram is the right place to stay or well accomdation is there compare to it.
