10 Evernote tips to organize your info in 2017 10 Evernote tips to organize your info in 2017 CES 2017: Up-and-coming devices from the ShowStoppers event 10 ways to put your old Android phone or tablet to use CES 2017: The PCs, gadgets, and gear we can't wait to seeDuring the 4+ days at Comic-Con, you will find that there is nothing more important than your phone. Whether it’s making calls, texting, taking selfies, videoing panels, recording audio, looking up the schedule, tweeting, or Googling Gaslamp locations, never before has technology been so important to the Comic-Con experience. Because of this, nothing drains your battery faster than being at Comic-Con and unless you can call thunder from the skies, you might be in trouble. With the overly congested network and longer than average spool times, your phone will run down on power two or three times faster than normal- especially if you are trying to upload pics to social media. So your number one resource during the show is power.
Since there are few electrical outlets available at the convention center, you will need to be able to stay charged up all day (and all night if you are camping) on your own. Like a oasis in the desert, you might be fortunate enough to stumble upon a vendor equipped with a charging station- but don’t count on it. So your real only option is to have sort of external battery supply. In past years, I have used the Mophie Juice Case to recharge my iPhone. Not only did it serve as extra protection for my phone but an extra battery as well. But the case battery has died and it’s time to make a new choice. Since I am only months away from an phone upgrade, I don’t want to invest in a specific case- so I am now hunting for an external battery to help keep me posting my ‘duck face’ selfies at the show. So naturally, the first place I went to was Twitter. After sharing some of my needs, ya’ll were awesome to suggest some options. In fact, I got so many tweets that I got inspired to write this post in order to share my findings with you all.
This is what kind of battery I am looking for- and chances are, you are too: Being slim is my most important criteria Enough juice to fully charge my phone at least 2-3+ times (list 1000s mAh) A model that light but durable Not larger than my iPhone Has a good reputation for lasting Like last night on Twitter, leave your comments below with your specific battery experience, store links, photos, cost, etc. Tech nerds, this is your time to shine! I am guessing, many of us are open to upgrade if the quality and price is right so share your knowledge. If this is your first time to Comic-Con, make sure you heed this warning and pick up a good extra battery. NOTHING is worst than having 5% left on your phone when it’s 2p at SDCC- and I see it happen to new attendees every year. Even the Green Lanterns knows their limits. Thanks all and I am looking forward to your suggestions. Please include the Posting ID located in the header of each ad. This bag has controls.
HiSmart is literally (and you can take my word for this) the most happening bag I’ve ever seen. Normally I’m never this excited by fashion, but the HiSmart isn’t just fashion. Touted as the future of bags, HiSmart is great product design, on every level. As a bag, it’s pretty unique looking, with a large spun-metal fidlock that opens and closes the bag. Once your eye diverts from this metallic pendant, you notice the rest of the bag and its incredible craftsmanship. apb backpack radioWaterproof Canvas body that almost looks like leather (which works great, because the straps are Italian leather), diagonal ziplines, multiple storage compartments, and a layout that switches between backpack and messenger bag, without jumbling up the stuff you have inside!!asus rog g73 laptop backpack
Well, I haven’t gotten to the best bit yet. On the strap of the HiSmart bag lies another jewel, similar to the fidlock on the bag. This, however is a smart-dial (that’s actually a remote) with an incredible set of controls, allowing you to run phone-based tasks without your phone! You can play/pause music, switch tracks, answer calls, trigger selfies, pin locations, and even remotely locate your phone! Yes… your BAG does all that now! mundial backpack beuchatSo just go ahead and ditch that smart-wearable you have on your wrist. buy liviya school bagsDesigner: Lepow DesignBuy It Here: $189 $279 TagsHiSmart BagLepow Designm1936 backpackTech handbags either make you squeal with delight or groan with despair. j34 backpack
Whether or not they even fit into a 'connected self' definition of wearable tech is up for debate. But like it or not, they're here: celebrities like Olivia Palermo are designing them, they're smashing targets on crowdfunding sites, even heritage brands like Aspinal are getting involved. Read this: The fashionable future of haptics starts hereIf you're interested in a tech handbag, just bear in mind before you hand over your cash that you can buy a portable power bank for the princessly sum of £8 on Amazon. Then stick it in any bag you choose to keep your gadgets juiced up throughout the day. If the convenience of charging tickles you, take a look at the Leoht Tote, a Kickstarter project ($135,000 and counting) which has caught the eyes of wearable tech trendsetters such as Billie Whitehouse. It ups the design stakes as well as including wireless charging and interior lights to help you when rummaging about. The best examples of these accessories so far, though, offer more than in-bag gadget charging - from tech-friendly compartments (a simple idea but until now difficult to find) to smartphone controls for those who don't want to wear a smartwatch on their wrist.
But it's the tentative steps into actually making these bags smart which are much more interesting. The Message Bag concept by Queen Mary's student Christine Farion uses NFC tags to quickly display which important items are inside via LEDs on the outside, eliminating a real First World problem of constant checking. And the Arduino powered iBag locks itself when its GPS module knows that you're in a 'danger spending zone'. Then there's the Bluesmart connected carry-on suitcase which isn't a handbag or even wearable but has some nifty features all the same: from the app you can lock and unlock it, track its location and get an alert if you're leaving it behind plus there's a built-in battery and even scales to make sure you don't go over your allowance. $2m on Indiegogo says it's a bit of a hit. The HiSmart bag is on Indiegogo now and connects to your smartphone. It adds music controls, voice calls, pinning locations and selfie taking functions to a disc on the strap of this convertible, Italian leather messenger bag/backpack.
That's most of the feature list of a smartwatch or hearable, minus fitness tracking, in a convenient place on the body to interact with. The strap idea is intriguing and there's plenty more that could be added to connect with the body - navigation haptics for backpack straps, say, or activity tracking. It's raised over $200,000 in pledges so far and the campaign is live until 15 April. There's a lot of horrible ideas on crowdfunding sites and the internet in general but well, we're picking on this one, BagTV. Look at the model's face on the far right, even she's realised by Photo 3 that she's contributing to the end of civilisation. What we want from this category is a stunning accessory that we'd buy even if we didn't know it had tech inside and a function that makes sense for a wearable. The worst offenders are anti-chic, too basic or downright idiotic in features AND the makers have the audacity to try to charge us over the odds for one. That's not the future. The Elektronista gets a few things very right - it's a gorgeous clutch bag in soft leather, beloved by fashion journalists.
