Army & Special Forces The SkyRanger can be deployed in under 3 minutes either from a mission backpack or carrying case. No prior knowledge is required and only minimal training is needed. Flight and camera controls are via a ruggedised laptop touchscreen. As SkyRanger is a vertical takeoff/landing (VTOL) sUAS drone only minimal space is required and there is no requirement for special launch or retrieval equipment. Over-the-hill aerial intelligence up to a distance of 5 km. is obtained even in harsh environments and bad weather. SkyRanger provides secure, simultaneous situational awareness to both ground personnel and the command post. The SkyRanger is an “eye-in-the-sky” providing vital information day and night. With a 50 minute flight time and a range of up to 5 km. the SkyRanger can provide quick and decisive answers as to what is happening on the other side of the hill. Now ground forces have better information which can lead to better decisions. The laptop touchscreen interface means that anyone with a minimum of training can master the task tactical aerial surveillance.

Secure real time streaming of digital video whether day or night to any networked device provides the intelligence to those who need it. This photo was taken by a Libyan butcher. He joined the rebel forces and after 1-1/2 days training he went out on his first mission.

The SkyRanger is particularly good at perimeter security. Flight plans can be stored in the laptop and pulled up in an instant when required. Should the need arise the operator can, of course, break off the pre-programmed “waypoint” flight path.

So as the convoy mores forward so does the flyer. The “eyes-on-target” real time video feed warns the operator when there is trouble ahead. Another use of the SkyRanger is overt surveillance as opposed to covert surveillance. When people can see that they are being watched from above this can sometimes be beneficial.1. The uniform of a military force is the outward symbol of its commitment, identity and ethos. Coupled with overall appearance, the uniform is the most powerful single expression of pride by the individual Regimental member and is the primary means by which the public image of the Regiment is fashioned. 2. The dress of the Regiment is based upon the dress of the Scottish highlands and draws its traditions from the customs of the highlanders and the regiments of infantry raised there, especially from the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders.

Every effort will be made to preserve and enhance these traditions. 3. All Cameron Highlanders are reminded that the primary dress of the Regiment is, and always has been the KILT. It will be worn by all ranks on every possible occasion unless otherwise ordered by the Commanding Officer, either in Routine Orders or otherwise. Great pains must be taken in putting on the kilt for while no soldier looks smarter than a well turned out highlander, none looks worse than a slovenly highlander. 4. A good turn out is obtained by well fitted and equally well maintained kit. This helps maintain a high level of esprit de corps within the Regiment, and a good name, image and professional appearance to those who are observing the Regiment or its members. Individual members are responsible for maintaining all of their personal kit in good order, especially the items of Regimental kit provided to them. 5. Approval of new items and orders of dress, or modifications to existing items and orders, shall recognize the need to provide protection and comfort over a wide range of climatic conditions and to support the complete spectrum of activity from ceremonial duties through to strenuous labour.

6. The inherent difference between men and women will be given due consideration when new items of dress, or changes to dress policy, are proposed. 7. Rank insignia must be easily recognizable and clearly differentiate between ranks to promote recognition and the paying of compliments while in garrison. While in the field, leaders still need to be recognizable by their soldiers and those with whom they may come into contact. 8. To facilitate enforcement of dress policy, the number of optional dress items shall be kept to a minimum. Optional items of dress shall meet approved standards of Regimental pattern and material and, whenever possible, shall be obtained from a single supplier. 1.
