Published on April 13th, 2015 | Are you a chainsaw newbie? If you’re anything like me, you may be wondering how to correctly mix the oil and fuel for a 2-stroke chainsaw, or you might just need a little refresher.
If either one is the case, here’s a quick guide to help us both! Before we begin, here is what you will need: Gather all of the needed materials. Move chainsaw to a well-ventilated area.numark ns7 backpack In your clean fuel container (not the equipment fuel tank) pour in half of your unleaded gasolinehomebrew backpack hf antenna Next, pour in all of the oil that is needed for your 50:1 mix. advance adgility backpack vacuum price(2.6 oz. oil/1 gallon gas)backpack cha eun sang Shake the container to mix for 10-15 seconds.dftba backpack
Add in the rest of the gasoline and shake for an additional 10-15 seconds. Remove the fuel cap from your chainsaw’s tank and add in the gasoline and oil mixture to about 80% of the tank’s capacity.yonex 8200 backpack Replace the cap and wipe up any spillage. Move at least 10 feet away from where you just fueled your chainsaw, start it up and get to work! • Never refuel your chainsaw while it is running or still hot, wait until it is properly cooled to being refueling. • The ratio that is used when mixing 2 stroke oil and gasoline is very important, if there are ANY inaccuracies, your saw will not run efficiently. • All Husqvarna chainsaws use the ratio of 50:1, this means that for every gallon of gas you will use 2.6 oz. of 2 stroke engine oil. • Even though your owner’s manual may say 87 octane, always use 89, just to be safe, and to prevent “knocking” which could be damaging to your engine.
• All of Husqvarna’s chainsaws are air cooled, so make sure if you are not using Husqvarna’s oil that you do NOT use oil intended for water cooled engines, this is also referred to as TCW3 or outboard oil. • Do not start the chainsaw if there is fuel on yourself, your clothes, the unit, or the area around you. • Do not smoke while refueling or while mixing the gasoline and oil. • NEVER attempt to mix fuel and gasoline in the tank of the unit. • Do not mix more than a one month supply of fuel (See Ethanol Damage up Close Here!) • Empty and clean the chainsaw’s fuel tank before storage. • Avoid running the chainsaw at too high of a speed for extended periods of time during the first 10 hours.Shipton’s Big R, quality and excellence in products and service since 1949.Our farm and ranch stores in Billings, Montana and Sheridan, Wyoming offer quality supplies and comprehensive service — we stand by our products and service what we sell.
