Why is the voucher code I entered not valid? ​vPost runs several promotions all year round, catered to the different seasons and different needs of our customers. If you entered a voucher code and it is not valid, please countercheck the entered voucher code for its terms and conditions of use. The current Customs GST rate is 7% of CIF. For vPost USA, vPost Japan, vPost Europe and vPost China, it will be a charge of S$1.50 per item per day for items which are held for more than 21 days from processed date. ​8. If I do not use vPost to ship my item after it has arrived, are there any charges to re-direct the item/package to another location? For all redirections (including return to merchants) requests, there will be an administrative charge for processing the redirection requests. For redirection via vPost, amount payable will be SGD6.50 (admin fee) plus the local postage fee to redirect package(s) to customer’s requested address. For redirection via a third party courier, amount payable will be SGD10.00 (admin fee). Customers will need to pay for any other costs incurred directly to the courier company picked by them. For return to merchants with a valid prepaid label, amount payable will be SGD6.50 only. If your merchant did not provide a prepaid label, then the cost to deliver your package to merchant’s address will be payable by customer. ​9. Can I store my package(s) at your warehouse for a few months? Are there any applicable charges? vPost provides free storage of 21 days from the date package is processed without any charge for your consolidation of shipping payment.

However, when packages are held for more than 21 days from processed date, we will charge a holding fee of S$1.50 per package per day. vPost also reserves the right to dispose any package which has been held for more than 30 days from the processed/declared date. ​10. What is the cost of the holding fee if my package(s) is still in warehouse after 21 days of free storage is over? vPost charges S$1.50 per package per day for packages that are held for more than 21 days from processed date. This fee applies to all packages at our 4 warehouses. Example: Package is in your account on 5 October, the holding fee will starts on 27 October. ​11. What is your minimum chargeable weight? Our minimal chargeable weight for all vPost services is 0.5kg and subsequent weight step is 0.1kg thereafter. ​12. What is shipment consolidation and what are its benefits? Shipment consolidation is a payment feature that allows customers to pay one base charge per shipping charge bill instead of one base charge per package.

To utilize this feature, simply withhold payment till all the packages you want to pay for together are available for billing. Please note that a holding fee will be applicable for packages that are held for more than 21 days. ​13. How do I make payment for the vPost shipping charges? Once your package has arrived at our Consolidation Centre, you can proceed to declare and make payment for the shipping charges. If you wish to consolidate, please wait until all your packages have arrived before making payment. Once paid, we endeavour to deliver your package(s) within 4-8 working days. ​14. What modes of payment are acceptable for vPost shipping charges? Currently, the following are the available modes of payment: a. Credit/Debit Cards (Visa/Master) For credit cards, vPost currently only accepts locally issued credit cards for payment. c. American Express (AMEX) Please ensure that you have made the necessary arrangements for any of the above payment modes before using vPost Shipping Services.

​15. Am I able to claim back sales tax (VAT) through vPost? No, currently vPost does not provide a service for claiming of sales tax incurred by our customers when they shop online from overseas merchants. ​16. Why is my shipping fee so high? Are there any tips to reduce the shipping fee? When your package reaches our facility in US, Europe, Japan or China, we will measure and weigh the package to calculate the volumentric and actual weight of the package. As per freight industry practice, the chargeable weight of a package is calculated based on Volumetric or Actual weight, whichever is higher. Volumetric weight of a package is a calculation that reveals the density of a package. A less dense package generally occupies more volume of space compared to its acutal. Volumetric weight = [ length(cm) x breadth(cm) x height(cm) ] / 5,000cm Minimum chargeable weight is 0.5kg and subsequent weight step is 0.1kg thereafter. You can advise your merchant to ensure proper packaging and pack your purchase into a smallest possible box.
